This was my first attempt to paint human eyes. I have always been fascinated with the clarity that eyes have to express feelings. When I chose the model for this painting, I didn’t choose it just because of the beauty of the colors, but also because of the emotions this person was able to transmit through her eyes.

When my father passed away in Venezuela, I was not able to travel down south; however, I decided to take a week to process my loss. This in when I created “Frutas.” I made it to show that, even in a moment with great sorrow, people can create things that can add color back in their lives, changing their perspective.

This painting is a continuation of my work in “My Sweet Butterfly.” It represents the setting of the story. I based this painting on a picture I took in 2006 in the Rocky mountains while I was backpacking with my wife and friends

I’ve always had a passion for the mountains, and desire for the most iconic mountains in the world. The Mathehone or Servino, located on the border between Switzerland and Italy is one of those mountains. This painting shows an iconic view of the mountain from the town of Zermatt, using my color and my painting style.

In 2002 I was living on a Caribbean Island in Venezuela called Margarita.
Margarita contains an innumerable amount of colorful landscapes. One of the places that captured my attention because of its beauty and color, was Playa el Tirano. This is a beautiful beach that has an exceptional view of Cerro Guayamori, which is one of the iconic mountains on the island.

This painting was my way to get out of my comfort zone and explore a different way to paint. Although I didn’t continue painting in this style, this experience opened new ways to produce art using Illustrator software.
